Back in 1985, Gary and Dawn Stein opened Sound World in Wausau because many of the best values in electronics were simply not available at that time in Central Wisconsin: names like Denon, Paradigm and Definitive Technology.

Since then, it’s been our mission to search the vast and confusing electronics marketplace to select the best and most reliable manufacturers and products for our customers. Gary started his career with TEAM Electronics in 1969 and over the years, he’s seen the introduction of thousands of electronic products, from 8-track tapes to high-definition TV. His background, along with that of Sound World’s equally experienced staff, means that you’ll get honest advice backed by a perspective that few others can offer.
